AND NOW ITS BROWN BEARS. 2 May 1950. Brumas, the London Zoo 's Polar cub, awoke this morning (Tuesday) to find two rivals for her place in the hearts of the people. The rivals are three and a half month old Syrian cubs, Jack and Daphne, who make their debuts in the zoo today. The cubs have taken their names from, and been adopted by, the entertainment team of Jack and Daphne Barker. Picture Shows: Two new bear cubs are introduced to their public in the London Zoo today.
