Drawing of the Prieure de l'Enfourchure a Dixmont dans l'Yonne, France, 1857. Founded in 1209 on the edge of Foret d'Othe, the priory was donated by Count Guillaume de Joigny to the Order of Grandmont. It was an austere religious community that had an important spiritual influence in the region. From this priory, ruined by the Hundred Years War, rebuilt in the sixteenth century. and destroyed in the French Revolution.
