John Wisden, c1850s. Portrait of English cricketer John Wisden (1826-1884), founder of "Wisden Cricketers' Almanack", at Lords cricket ground in London. Wisden played 187 first-class cricket matches for three English county cricket teams: Kent, Middlesex and Sussex. He also travelled to to Canada and the United States in 1859 with a touring team.
