'Madame La Comtesse du Barry', c1770s?, (1903). Portrait of Jeanne Bécu, Comtesse Du Barry (1743-1793), wearing jacket and lace collar. She was the last Maîtresse-en-titre (chief mistress) of King Louis XV of France, and one of the victims of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution.
