Alberto Moravia, Italian Writer

Alberto Moravia (1907-1990) in his study with a Persian cat. Moravia was an Italian writer (born Alberto Pincherle) who had tuberculosis as a child, forcing him to have study at home and to have lots of time to do so. At the age of 22, he wrote "The Time of Indifference", a novel criticizing fascism. He did not like Mussolini and was on the run during the war because of harassment from the government, forcing him to write under the pseudonym Moravia.
