The First Viscount Weymouth 1640-1714 - painting by Sir Peter Lely - Thomas Thynne, 1st Viscount Weymouth (1640 - 28 July 1714) was descended from Sir John Thynne of Longleat House, and lived at Drayton Basset, near Tamworth. He was created Baron Thynne in 1680 and Viscount Weymouth in 1682. He had three sons all of whom predeceased him. He was High Steward of Tamworth from 1679 and also from 1679 until his death High Steward of the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. ©TopFoto.
