PRINCE CHARLES VISITS GEELONG GRAMMAR SCHOOL. 7 March 1966. Prince Charles paid his first visit to Geelong Grammar School, Geelong, Victoria, Australia, recently. In a 22 and a half minute official tour of the school, just outside Geelong, rosy cheeked Prince succeeded in 1) causing three staff members, the bus driver, the porter and the cook, to remark about his humour and inquisitiveness 2) Showing himself up as a typical schoolboy by not having a pen at a critical time and 3) proving to four fit prefects that he was no slowcoach when is came to scaling the schools clock tower. But the Princes first day at Geelong was strangely quiet, the classrooms were empty and eager sightseers were scarce. It happened to be sports afternoon and all the students were out either boating or rowing on the adjoining lagoon, playing in house cricket matches, or training for swimming sports. Photo Shows: One last smile for photographers as Prince charles leaves after his visit to Geelong Grammar School.
