Siamese twins Helen and Judith, Hungarian Sisters

Siamese or conjoined twins. Helen and Judith, the Hungarian Sisters, born in Szony in 1701. Joined at the base of the spine, they were exhibited in England, France, Germany, Holland and Poland. At the age of 9 they were placed in a convent, where they died at the age of 21 or 22. Engraving from "The Universal Magazine" (London, 1756).
