Banker nephew of Home Secretary, cycles to work. Mr Quintin Vincent, Hoare, a nephew of the Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, and a director and managing partner of London's oldest private banking firm, now travels from his home in Canonbury, North London, to his office on a bicycle. He says it is not only quicker than a car, but it is also useful exercise. Mr Hore bought his bicycle six weeks ago after talking to a fellow director about London's traffic problems. Although both owned cars, they decided to try cycling. The first time Mr Hore uses bicycle to go to the office. He saved more than seven minutes on the time he usually took to motor the same distance. He now uses the machine regularly. 29 April 1938.
