Love Canal

Aerial photo of the Hooker Chemical plant in the early 1980's. Hooker Chemical used the Love Canal area as a dumping ground in the 1950's. The Love Canal community was erected on top of the dump, resulting in a multitude of cancers and birth defects in the residents years later.
