After an absence of 9 years, the thrilling Musical Drive returns to the Royal Tournament at Olympia. The spectacular drive, which consists of teams pulling guns and limbers weighing 1 1/2 tons, manoeuvering at the gallop in a 27 yard wide arena, has always been the highlight of the Tournament. Before the war it took two years to train men and horses who take part. Now the only horsed artillery unit in Britain, the King's Troop of the Royal Horse Artillery (Major J.A.Norman D.S.O) in reaching prefection, having been in training only since last November. Picture shows: The King's Troop, R.H.A., gave an object lesson in precision during rehearsal for the Musical Drive at Wormwood Scrubs today, (Tuesday). 20th April 1948.
