Station, Hants, today.Field Marshal Lord Montgomery left aboard an R.A.F. aircraft from Odiham, Hants. for a visit to Paris and the capitals of the Low Countries today (Saturday), taking with him an air cadet to act as assistant air-quartermaster. Field Marshal Montgomery is Chairman of the Western Union Defence Committee.The cadet who will accompany him is Corporal Richard V. Osborne of Avenue Road, Dorridge, Warwickshire. He will assist with baggage, serve refreshments and provide any other personal service that may be needed. A boarder at Highgate School, Cadet Corporal Osborne is a member of the R.A.F. section of the Combined Cadet Force. He has had flying experience in Anson and Tiger Moth aircraft. January 07, 1950.
