'A Diplomatic Cousin' Henry White, American diplomat, 1899. White (1850-1927) was described by President Theodore Roosevelt as the most useful man in the entire diplomatic service, during my Presidency and for many years before. He was one of the signatories of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. In 1898 White was First Secretary at the US embassy in London. A print from Vanity Fair, March 16th 1899.
