St Thomas' Hospital, Lambeth, Greater London, 1878. The hospital was founded with 40 beds in the 12th century by monks of an Augustinian priory. It eventually relocated south of the Westminster Bridge in 1871 after the railway increased its importance and the demands placed upon it.
