New search, but no "lioness" - Broadford police searched the Hume Highway north of Kilmore for hours early today after received a second report that a "lioness" had been the sighted in the area. The only animal they saw was a red setter. A Melbourne-bound motorist telephoned D.24 just before midnight and reported that he saw on the road an animal about 7 ft. long. The man would not give his name but said he was a justice of the peace. The animal, he said, did not appear afraid of the car, and ***** off the road slowly ***** September 30, 1954.
