The bodies of Johan and Cornelis de Witt after their murder. Johan de Witt aka Jan de Witt, 1625 1672 and his brother Cornelis de Witt, 1623 - 1672. Both were Dutch politicians, Johan being the Grand Pensionary of Holland. The brothers were lynched by supporters of William of Orange on August 20, 1672. After a work by Cornelis Huyberts.
