Uncinate Fasciculus tractography. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) with generation of colour diffusion tractography can have significant impact on how a brain tumour is resected. The information diffusion tractography provides the neurosurgeon helps plan a safer resection or partial resection. Tractography can help us determine whether a certain tract is destroyed or infiltrated with tumour or merely displaced by a mass. In the latter instance we can tell the neurosurgeon how the tract is displaced and where the tract is located relative to the mass, again providing information to the neurosurgeon, which may allow a safer resection. uf = uncinate fasciculus.
