Reg Parnell, 38-year-old British racing driver, flashing by the winning post at Goodwood, Sussex, to win the main event in Britain's first motor-racing programme of the season - the Richmond Trophy. He beat his two rivals, Prince Bira of Siam and Baron de Graffenreid of Switzerland. Only three finished the race of 26.4 miles.
