Photographic gun designed by Etienne Jules Marey, 1882 (1956). Marey (1830-1904) was a French physiologist who pioneered the use of photography to record and analyse movement, which led to the invention of cinematography. In 1881, he invented the photographic gun and later he devised the first chronophotograph camera.
