Caption: Three different spiders, as illustrated by Carl Wilhelm Hahn in his Monographia Aranearum, also known as Monographie der Spinnen, in the 1820s. On the upper left is a cobweb spider, found in Europe and North America. The upper right spider is now known as Pachygnatha clercki, a long-jawed orb weaver. The spider on the bottom is Enoplognatha ovata, native to Europe, but now found in North America as well.
