Damage done in the first bombing raid on London, 1915 (1937). On 31st May 1915, Zeppelin LZ38 of the German Army carried out the first air raid on London (previous Zeppelin raids had been launched against coastal towns in East Anglia and the South-east). 120 bombs weighing a total of 3000 pounds were dropped between Stoke Newington and Leytonstone, killing 7 people and injuring 35.
