Ethiopian knighthood (Order of the Trinity), received by Willem Drees, Box covered with red paper with the decorations of the Order of the Trinity (1st class), Empire Ethiopia, set in 1930 by Emperor Haile Selassie, granted to Prime Minister W. Drees. The decorations consist of a carrying sign, a shoulder strap and an ordester. The round, golden (gold-plated?) Bear sign is adorned with four protruding floral motifs on the top, bottom and two sides, the top of which is crowned with a crown, and has an inscription written in Ethiopian that reads (freely translated) : 'Blessed are You who see the depths seated on the Cheribon.' In the center, separated by a raised golden star, white enameled images of God, Son and Holy Spirit. The carrier sign is attached to a short white silk cord with a safety pin, which is attached to a yellow velvet base. The ordester is designed in the same way as the bear sign, but without a crown and with flares on the edges as an addition between the flower motifs, a sturdy (gold) pin is attached to the bottom. The loose ribbon is red with yellow side edges and is used as a bow at the attachment for the bear mark. Loosely in the box is a bilingual 34-page brochure with cover, entitled 'Imperial Ethiopian Government / Insignia Regulations' and bearing the date 1954. The Ethiopian text is written in Ethiopian script.
