USAAF PHOTOGRAPHER. RAF Blakehill Farm, Cricklade, Wiltshire, March 1944. Opened in 1944, the airfield was originally allocated to the USAAF's Ninth Air Force but was not used by them. It was instead the home of the transport aircraft of No 46 Group Transport Command. In 1948 the airfield was a satellite of RAF South Cerney, and was used by training aircraft until it closed in 1952 and the land was returned to agricultural use.
