Japs Surrender At Bataan - A serpentine column of surrendering Japanese soldiers cross a green rice paddy as they approach waiting 38th Div. troops. Fifty officers and 400 men, all that remained of more than 6,000 enemy troops, surrendered at Orion and Bagac, Bataan. They are shown moving along the same trail over which Americans made the infamous "death march" in 1942. This enemy force, under Col. Nagayoshi was completely defeated in battle by veteran 38th Div. troops in their reconquest of historic Bataan peninsuls. April 9, 1945. (Photo by U.S. Army Photo).
