Regiment arrives home from France. The 369th Infantry listening to their band play its last tune before debarking at Hoboken, NJ. James Reese Europe (1881 - 1919) was an African-American ragtime and jazz arranger, composer and bandleader. During WWI he saw combat as a lieutenant with the 369th Infantry and led their regimental band. Western Union Newspaper, February 10, 1919 (cropped and cleaned).
