Title: Intravenous (IV) Drip Bag
Caption: An intravenous (IV) drip bag containing 0. 9% sodium chloride (saline). The tube at left carries the drug into the bloodstream, usually through veins in the forearm. An intravenous infusion, or drip, may also be used to give blood and plasma or to maintain the level of body fluids in patients who cannot eat or drink. The rate at which the solution containing the drug enters the circulation is controlled by an adjustable valve.
