Ali Tebelen, Pacha de Janina, 1819. Ali Pasha (1741-1822) reclining in a boat smoking a pipe, and wearing a coat trimmed with fur. In 1787 he became the Turkish pasha (military governor) of Yannina, which is now Ioánnina in Greece, but was a province of the Ottoman Empire.
