Statue of An Jung-geun (1879 - 1910), Korean-independence activist and nationalist. Famous for his assassination of Ito Hirobumi, first Prime Minister of Japan. On 26 October 1909, he assassinated Ito Hirobumi, the first Resident-General of Korea, a four-time Prime Minister of Japan, and then President of the Privy Council of Japan. Statue made by Kim Kyeong-Seung (1915-1992) in 1959.
