Title: Ettore Bugatti. Artist: Unknown
Caption: Ettore Bugatti. He worked at several car companies before deciding to set up his own company in 1909. In 1910 he created the first serious small car. It was extremely light with a 1.35-litre, four-cylinder engine with single overhead camshaft. Four years later, a 16-valve configuration became the world's first series produced multi-valve engine. The Bugatti Type 35 became the world's most important racing car, for its light and efficient construction as well as its body design. His design for multi-spoke light-alloy wheels for the Type 35 continues today to be the most widespread design for alloy wheels.
