The Marquise de Brinvilliers before execution, 1676 (1956). Marie-Madeleine-Marguerite d'Aubray, Marquise de Brinvilliers (1630-1676) was a French noblewoman and serial killer who poisoned several members of her family in order to inherit their property. She was beheaded and burnt at the stake for her crimes.
