Illustration of Ludwig Thoma by Olaf Leonhard Gulbransson (26 May 1873 in Oslo – 18 September 1958 in Tegernsee, Germany), he was a Norwegian artist, painter and designer. He is probably best known for his caricatures and illustrations. Gulbransson actively cooperated with the Nazis. During World War II. This illustration depicts he Little Match Girl; a short story by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a dying child's dreams and hope.
