Pompeii : The Fullery of Stephanus (or Fullonica of Stephanus)

The Fullery of Stephanus (or Fullonica of Stephanus) in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, Italy (2017). The property is the only laundry in Pompeii that had not simply been adapted from an existing building, but was a full restructuring of a patrician house, rationally laid out to best fulfill its new function. It had large basins for rinsing fed by constant water flow and stone ones for dying, washing and getting rid of stains through the use of specific types of mud or with urine.
An eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 buried Pompeii under volcanic ash and rock. Pompeii is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy.
