In 1580 Angela, the only descendant of the Mozzoni's, married Giampietro Cicogna, in this way founding the family which still owns the villa today. It is a classical example of a rural Renaissance villa surrounded by an Italian garden The garden was the decision of Ascanio Mozzoni (d. 1593).
