Caption: ENIAC computer, c1944. The first all-electronic computer designed to be Turing-complete, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was designed by J Presper Eckert and John William Mauchly of the University of Pennsylvania. It was developed and built for the US Army to calculate ballistic firing tables. ENIAC was enormous, weighing 30 tons and consuming 160 kilowatts of power.
