Caption: Thomas Willis (1621-1675) was an English doctor and founding member of the Royal Society. In his pioneering work on neurology, a term he coined, he discovered the Circle of Willis, a circle of arteries at the base of the brain. He also coined the term mellitus in diabetes mellitus.
