UK / United Kingdom: World War II 'Dig For Victory' propaganda poster, c. 1942.

One of the most memorable campaigns during World War Two, was the 'Dig for Victory' campaign. Any piece of land that could be turned over to the use of growing fruit and vegetables was made use of. Even those who hadn’t considered their fingers to be green before the war, picked up their spades and gave veggie gardening a go. Everyone was offered help and guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture, to get growing.
