Bow-fronted building, High Street, Hastings, East Sussex, 1922. Artist: Nathaniel Lloyd

Street front of 38 High Street, Hastings, East Sussex, 1922; dating from the late 18th century. Above the shop front are two bow windows. The first floor window is a variant form of the Venetian window, arched and with gothicized interlaced glazing bars. Judging from the costume of the pedestrians, this photograph was probably taken in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
