Types of clouds as described by the author: a,a, exhibits the character of the cirro-cumulus, as also its appearance in the distance., b,b, a light and dark cirro-stratus; the former taken just before the commencement of wet weather, the latter in the twilight of the evening, when dew was falling: the smaller ones show its appearance in the distance. c,c, the mixed and the distinct cumulo-stratus; the latter in it's most regular state, as sometimes seen at the approach of thunder srms and after showers. .
