Caption: Chen Duxiu (1880-1942), from Huaining, Anhui Province. Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao were the pioneers of ideological liberation during the May Fourth Movement and were the main leaders in the movement. They have prepared for the ideological conditions for the May Fourth Movement to take place through publications such as "New Youth" and "Weekly Commentary" and practices of revolution. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919. Later, Chen and Li became the main founders of the Chinese Communist Party.
