Welsh Crwth and Russian Balalåika. The Crwth is a rare Welsh instrument which is supposed to have been the 'Chrotta Brittania' mentioned in the odes of Venantius Fortunatus. The Balalåika is a Russian peasant's guitar. The common instrument is usually quite plain although this one is decorated.
