The Boxberg power plant is a German lignite-fired power plant in Boxberg O.L. in Upper Lusatia in the Lusatian lignite mining region. During its highest expansion stage in the 1980s, it was the largest coal-fired power plant in the GDR, with a nominal output of 3520 megawatts.
