'Medal to Commemorate the Murder of Godfrey', c1876. Sir Edmund Berry Godfrey (1621-1678) English magistrate found dead in a ditch on Primrose Hill on 17 October 1678. A commemorative dagger, medal and pamphlets encouraged  public perception the murder was a Catholic plot.  From "Old and New London: A Narrative of Its History, Its People, and Its Places.
