During the later Iron Age, gold and silver were sacrificed in swamps and silting-up lakes. The rings from Skedemosse, Oland, and the silver ornaments from Sjorup in Skane are examples of this kind. Around 500 AD sacrifical venues were transferred to the homes of magnates. This was the case with the newly discovered impressed figure foils from Sloinge, Halland. Sacrifices could be private or public, local, regional or nationwide. The Swedish History Museum. Stockholm. Sweden.
