Piero Valeriano Bolzani, Italian Author

Giovanni Pierio Valeriano was an Italian Renaissance humanist, favored by the Medici. Among his books, De Infelicitate Literatorum and Hieroglyphica sive de sacris Aegyptiorum litteris commentarii are notable. He is also known for having written Latin poetry which was popular in its time. His poem of 1549, Pierus, was written in the shape of a pear.
