Chicago, Ill. Marjorie Lawrence, noted Australian soprano, stood thursday night for the first time in six years to sing the title role in Richard Strauss Elektra. The 38-year-old blonde star who was stricken in 1941 with infantile paralysis, drew a tumultuous applause from Chicago's packed orchestra hall for her performance. Her previous concerts had been given from a wheel chair after she recovered enough from the polio attack to go back to the concert stage. She is shown during the one-act opera, supported by a railed chair which was pushed on to the stage by her husband, Dr. Donald King. Anm.
