Trojan War, Achilles Dragging Hector

Achilles dragging the body of Hector around Troy. In Greek mythology, Achilles was a Greek hero of the Trojan War. Legends state that Achilles was invulnerable in all of his body except for his heel. Hector was a Trojan prince and the greatest fighter for Troy. Achilles defeated Hector in combat, tied him to his chariot and drove his fallen enemy through the dust to his camp. For the next twelve days, Achilles mistreated the body, but it remained preserved from all injury by Apollo and Aphrodite. Engraving (cropped and converted to bw) by Giulio Bonasone, 1531-76.
