Batrachotomus confronts a Nothosaurus in the early to middle Triassic period (235 million years ago). Batrachotomus is a paracrocodylomorph from the loricata clade and a Prestosuchid. They grow up to 20 feet long and are a reptile distantly related to crocodiles. Nothosaurus is a semi-aquatic animal of which a branch may have given rise to the plesiosaurs. They have been found in North Africa, China and Europe.
