Israel, Jerusalem, Kidron Valley-Tomb of Absalom

The Kidron Valley (also known as Yehoshafat Valley) runs to the east of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is the site of many Jewish tombs. The Tomb of Absalom or Absalom's Monument (Hebrew: Yad Avshalom) is an ancient tomb that has been traditionally identified as the tomb of Absalom, the rebellious son of King David, based on a verse in the Book of Samuel. The tomb is cut into the natural rock. Its elegant design is attributed to the 1st century AD.
