Trapdoor spider

A trapdoor spider (Liphistius kanthan) at the entrance to its nest in Gua Kanthan cave, Perak, Malaysia. Apart from Gua Kanthan, Liphistius kanthan has only been found in one other cave. Note the segmented abdomen and the placement of the spiders feet at the end of the radiating sensory threads.
