Edward R. Murrow (1908 - 1965), born Egbert Murrow, was an American broadcast journalist. His radio news broadcasts ("Hear It Now") during WWII were listened to by millions of Americans and Canadians. During the war, he flew in many missions over Berlin and was one of the first to report the horrors of the Nazi camps. Murrow worked for CBS and was a pioneer of television news broadcasting. He produced a series on "See It Now" that led to the censure of Senator Joseph McCarthy.
